When Men Sin (4)

In the previous article, I asked whether or not it would be sinful to add jelly to the unleavened bread when remembering Christ’s death. The Bible’s answer is “Yes,” it would be sinful. Why? For the same reason that God was not pleased with the two priests of Leviticus 10. God said unleavened bread, and He said nothing about grape jelly. God has never been pleased when men do what He has not commanded instead of what He has commanded. This is adding to God’s word. Sadly, this sin is commonly repeated today--
  1. "infant baptism” God has instructed believers to be baptized, but He has not commanded “infant baptism.” That is a command of man and makes men guilty of adding to God’s word.
  2. playing music in worship to God  Is there a difference in singing a song and playing a song unto God? Study the worship of the church in the New Testament and find out which one God has commanded and which one God has not commanded (1 Cor. 14:15, 37; Eph. 5:19). God was once pleased with men who worshiped Him by burning incense, sacrificing animals, and playing music, but Christians have no such command. Are you doing what God has not commanded? If so, read Leviticus 10:3 and learn!
