Is It Possible: To Be Certain That There Is a God?
Let us reason together concerning the certainty of God’s existence. Hebrews 3:4 says “For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God.”
We all understand this-- that which is built, points to a builder. That which is designed, points to a designer. And the sheer volume of “designs” present in this physical world indicates that there is a Designer. So to whatever degree of certainty I can identify design in this world, then I can be equally sure that there is a Designer.
The intricate function of the human body shows that we are “wonderfully made,” not accidentally evolved (Psalm 139:14). Even a surface study of the human skin, eye, ear, brain, and various “systems” of the body reveal that this “human house” has a builder, a maker.
Obviously, not everyone agrees. Some interpret the earth's existence as evidence of a macro- evolutionary process. The Bible teaches differently. Does that mean that one interpretation of this world's existence is as good as another? No. In fact, the Bible teaches that God will punish those who do not know Him (2 Thessalonians 1:8). Those who do not know Him, did not seek Him (Acts 17:26-27).
Open your eyes to God's world and His word. If you will do that, you will know that there is a God.
